One of the rhythms at Conduit Church is to take 21 days in the month of January to pray and fast as a church family! This rhythm helps us set our year on the foundation that matters and prepare as we look toward the year ahead.
We’ve asked some of our pastors, church, and ministry leaders to write devotionals on what the Lord has put on their hearts to share with our church family. When you text to join, you will receive daily devotionals from us as we journey together, drawing closer to Him. The first text will be sent out on January 10th, 2025.
This isn’t just a routine or another spiritual discipline to check off a list. It’s an invitation. An invitation to go deeper—deeper in our connection with God, and deeper in unity with one another as a church family!
Throughout Scripture, we see that fasting and prayer are powerful tools that God’s people have used to draw near to Him. We leave it up to you to decide what these 21 days of prayer and fasting will look like! Spend time with the Lord. Ask Him what He would have you abstain from. A biblical fast is technically about food, but spiritually, it’s about abstaining from something that holds importance to you.
Here are a few options
Fasting from specific meals or types of food
Skipping lunch to spend that time in prayer, or giving up sugar, caffeine, or other daily comforts.
Fasting from media or entertainment
Setting aside social media, Netflix, or screen time to quiet the noise and make space to hear God’s voice.
Fasting from distractions
Setting aside activities like shopping, gaming, or hobbies that consume your time and focus.
